94 Chevy Astro Junction block

I have a 94 chevy astro, 4.3 liter with 190k miles. I realized my battery junction block ( the one with four fusible links) has a link burnt out. Is there a place, like autozone, where I can get a replacement block? Or, do I have to go to the dealer? If so, what is the exact terminology for the piece?

You can buy a piece of fusible link wire and wire it in. You do not have to replace the entire thing.

Excellent! Where would I get the wire? And, how would I do it correctly so it wont happen again too soon?

that's the proper stuff sold at auto parts stores - tough find at regualar stores but a maybe. Color is the "rated" point it should "blow" IMPORTANT! Home centers/Hardware stores may have this??
In a jam you might find "in line" fuse wire to install with a regular automotive fuses (stay with proper amp rated for the wire) - here a strong maybe at the 24 hour stores like the drug stores - WalGreens to name one.
Whatever you do - keep it fused!

Is there something left there to solder to? That would be the best way. I don't quite think you should just "jam" a wire in as you said. Not seeing just how what blew at that spot it's a judgment call on a good, safe connection while keeping it fused at said......

Does the wire have a place where it goes from one larger wire to 3 or 4 smaller ones? If so. strip a little bit of wire in front of the place where the fusuble links are attached. Then attach the new piece around the block area. If you are in a real bind, for a tempory fix, get a piece of regular wire 2 sizes smaller. It will work temporarily as a fuse. If the fusible link is in a 14 gauge wire, use at a 16 gauge wire to act as a fuse.
