96 Buick Riv Sign In

Putting new air shocks on and not getting any reaction from compressor to auto lift rear of car. Looking for location of air compressor fuse or relay to check for power.

The relay is in the left rear power distribution center

WOW Hammer! You sure are a fast sketch artist! He is looking inside the trunk on the passenger side. So far he found a box next to a rear speaker, exploring this and phone call got dropped. Will report back. Thanks.

B C E & F are all blank. Looked under "B" and there are no wires to that location.

Re: 96 Buick Riv Sign In

Your either looking at the wrong box or the car isn't equipped with air leveling, likely the wrong box.

Re: 96 Buick Riv Sign In

It deffinetly has leveling in it. Everything is there. From what he is describing it sounds like he is in the vicinity. 16 miles away from me, doing this by AT&T. Will tell him to hunt another box. Thanks.

Yes sir. Describes the same as the pics you sent except that the section for the air ride is blank with no wires going to it. It is a 98 Buick Riviera. Thanks

Re: 96 Buick Riv Sign In

Now then- 2 boxes under the rear seat. LOTS of fuses! Can you pinpoint the leveling relay? White cover has relays. A B C D E & F. C & F are open A trunk release- B says ELC. (?) D Door unlock E has F/pmp (fuel pump) Rest is a bank of fuses- 2 spots for relays 1 relay installed in section B.

Re: 96 Buick Riv Sign In

A burnt relay would indicate a compressor drawing too much current.

Re: 96 Buick Riv Sign In

Now the truth comes out. He replaced theair shocks because the bags on both shocks were blown out. So it sounds lie the compressor ran continous until the relay got hot. Just called, said he put a relay from rear window defogger in compressor's spot. Said car is up 4 inches above the rear tire. Thinks it is working. Will get replacement relay tomorrow A M. Need him to get a fuel pump for my 92 Z-71 anyway. Thanks Hammer- will keep ya posted!

Re: 96 Buick Riv Sign In

You may have a bad level sensor that is not shutting the compressor off until it blows the bags. Better pull the relay on it until you find out.
