My passenger side window on my 96 cavalier stopped working. My Dad and I changed out the motor for a brand new one and it still wouldnt work. So my Dad hooked up a by pass directly to the motor and the window would move up and down. So my Dad thought it might be a faulty switch. I bought a brand new switch and it still doesnt work. The switch is housed in the main 4 window switch that sets in the middle console of my car. All other windows work from this main switch but this one. Any suggestions on what may be the problem??

http://www.autozone.com/...eId=0900c1528003cfdd Here are some wiring diagrams that might give you a clue on the window circuits....scroll thru them and see if it helps.

Bet you find a broken wire in driver's door jam hidden in the rubber snorkel to hide them. If so - best to fish thru new high quality wire made to bend and solder splice where it doesn't need to bend - common problem at about the age,

Tom’s likely right about a wire being broken but with the master switch being in the console, I’d be looking at the conduit between the body and the right front door. The wires colors you’re going to be looking for are the light-blue and the tan.
