'97 F-150 Brake/Shift Switch Sign In

I have a 97 F-150 w/4.6L , 225k + miles that will not shift out of park. I have no brake lights. Fuses are good. How do I replace the switch at the pedal?

That's a fairly generic Ford brake like switch. Just be sure it's all back on properly WITH that little cotter key #2 as it's holding the shaft to the pedal completely.

Perhaps more common on the cars the wires pull out being a tad too short #5 and you can just get a used on to splice in leaving more wire if so. Lights should light if those two wires are touched together by jumper or however and you can then shift to replace this at location of choiceCool
