Ok, so this is kind of hard to explain as I have no flippin clue as to what is really wrong with my car. I have a 98 Buick Century 4 door sedan. Since the day i got it, it has had problems with the power windows. Varies between which ones wont go up or down. As of yesterday, my driver window is now stuck down (but the other windows and power mirrors on the same switch still work). I checked the fuses and circuts, nothing wrong there. Its like 15F out. About a week ago, all of my night time dash lights stopped working. I thought it was just a fuse until i pressed "down" on the driver side power window and HEY! my dash lit back up, but as soon as i take my finger off the button... it all goes dark again. 1st question: Is there a manual way to put my driver window up for right now? Its frickin cold and i don't like snow banks in my car. 2nd question: Why would my power windows have anything to do with my dash lights? This is stupid. Who ever set up the wiring in buick obviously had brain damage. Oh yeh, and my front passenger side blinker keeps burning out. The last time I had it changed, the mechanic said the bulb keeps melting. Why would the bulb melt?

Ok: For the windows I would look for a common ground. If need be for the moment just use a jumper wire to plain metal of dash to something known to be ground on the body like the door striker bolt/latch or something like that and just get the window up. You could go right to the motor and unplug the car's electrics and jumper wire just it to go up - hard sometimes when window is down of course. The directional is probably a problem at the socket of the bulb itself or perhaps the wrong bulbs being used. Just ideas for right now, T

ok, so i took my car in and they had to replace the whole switch in the driver door. The mechanic found a used switch so it only ended up costing like 60 bux and now all my windows work again but my dash still doesnt light up. I HATE BUICKS! Whatever, atleast its not snowing in my car anymore.
