Hello

I recently replaced the multi function switch (on the steering column) for an intermittent turn signal problem I was having. It fixed the problem.

Yesterday, I lost total use of the turn signal, emergency flasher and the rear windshield wiper. Have checked all relays and fuses - all are okay.

Anyone have any suggestions on what could possibly be the problem. I don't see how the rear wipers and turn signal could be related.

I posted this for you the last time you had a problem with the signals; have you checked there again?

Quote
You’ll have to remove the steering column covers to get to the harness connector of the switch. Once there take a test light to the Lt. Green/white wire. With the ignition on and the left turn on, the test light should light; it may even flash if the test light puts enough draw on the circuit. If the test light doesn’t light, change the switch. The Lt. Green/white wire is the feed wire from the switch to the left lights.

This time also check the white/Lt blue wire for the right turn when the switch is set to the appropriate side you’re checking.
If neither light the test light go to the Lt blue wire (feed from flasher to turn signal switch) If still no test light try going to the flasher unit and retest Lt blue there. While at the flasher unit test for power at the orange/yellow (feed from fuse panel to flasher)
Let us know what you find.
Dan.

discovered my problem

First of all, thanks Dan for your advice. Didn't have to delve so deep as to check voltage at various points.

Took apart the console and discovered that the electrical connector to the multifunction switch has work it's way loose (unknown as to why ??). I got lucky with this fault I think, being a relatively easy to fix once you discover the problem.

I also have an ABS problem and if some of you would read about this under general discussions, maybe you may have a lead to help me out with it.
