Hey I have a 1999 Ford Ranger and I changed the alternator but the problem is the battery gauge still says it is low and when the alternator is tested it comes back 11.5 ohms and no amps. Please advice. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks everyone

The battery wire may be faulty. or the regulator in your ALT. If there is no charge going to the battery there is a real problem. Check the battery post from the ALT. make sure it is on properly, follow it back to battery. Make sure it is not corroded, or looks shady. If thats all good, it could be either regulator or rectifier in the ALT. Was it a new ALT or exchange?
