I'm experiencing a weird issue with the trunk. The trunk closes all the way but the front dashboard console says its open. the problem occurred when I left my vehicle in direct sun for about 4-5 hrs. (Texas); went to the dealership, they diagnosed it as a latch issue; replaced the latch. started working well; but in just 15 days, the issue came back on. This time as well I feel the issue came up after I parked my vehicle in direct sun. Dont want to leave the vehicle in the dealership for another month but living with it for now.
Since the vehicle's computer thinks that the trunk is open, it does not lock all doors (trunk is openable without key), side mirrors do not close when locking vehicle and some LEDs stays on for (at least ) 30 mins after the vehicle is stopped.
Has anyone experienced this/such issues? please share any advise / troubleshooting ideas ; thanks much.

Arggh - the dealer owns this problem now but if a month YOU need to get assertive for alternate use of a same vehicle or something. Part(s) may be the issue or they just don't want warranty work as it doesn't pay very well.
It fixed it to replace it unless defective again dealer pays to do it again. See the problem? You can plain look, see if anything isn't right that might have been caught in the latch but if you try to fix it YOU own the problem so they'd like that.
Complain and if not at the dealer move on up to the next level they owe you that it works if not abused somehow it's defective.
Sunny day or super hot the thing should take it at the age and miles.
Again - the problem is probably the $$ side and or flaw with design or parts new now nobody to do it especially for free as they did it already!
