Battery Light Sign In

I have a 1996 Ford Ranger, engine size 2.3. The battery light came on in Febuary and I went to Advance Auto to have my alternator checked, they said it was bad, so I bought another one, it worked fine until a few weeks ago, the battery light came on again, had the alternator checked again they said it was bad, put the new one on, battery light still on, have put 3 alternators on in past couple of weeks, made them check the last alternator before I brought it home, have checked the battery, wires, connectors, and fuses, battery light still on, gauge showing discharge everything seems to work, starts fine, lights don't dim. But alternator tester showing alternator not charging. Any ideas?

You could be getting a bad run on ALTS. I have seen it myself. I have fitted 4 alternators to one vehicle in a week, just cause it was a bad batch sent to supplier. Are the ALTS you are getting rebuilds or genuine new replaceme? For 3 ALTs to go bad in the space of a month is pretty bad. They all should have a 1 yr warranty on them so you may have to get your money back and go somewhere else. I can not think of any other problem but what I have suggested. I know it happens, and it sucks!

The alternators have been rebuilt ones, but what I don't understand is the last one they gave me I made them check it before I left the store it was ok on thier machine, but after I hooked it up , my tester shows it's not.

You said fuse was good..15amp!

Check for a blown fusible link...I show it as Dk gray 12 ga.
Should be at the starter relay.

Let us know
