Battery wire slighty exposed Sign In

Hey guys! I have a quick question for you.

My car (2010 nissan altima)

I am planning on selling this car so while I was taking pictures under the hood I noticed that the battery negative wire slighty exposes the copper wire at the end.

I thought this was a new thing but I found a picture from 2 years ago of my car and it was still present there so I guess it's always been this way.

Is this something I need to fix? or is it okay to leave it since I am selling it?

Nissan has never said anything to me I take it in every 3 months....

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

You can leave it. Its a ground wire so no worry about shorting and making a fire. What can happen over time is that corrosion will get inside of the wire because it is open like that. Once that happens you will have electrical issues and would need a new cable. For now it seems to be very clean and shiny copper. If you were keeping the car, I'd say get some heat shrink on it. But for now its not going to hurt anything.
