Blue buildup on battery posts

I have a blue buildup on my battery posts and have no clue why or how to prevent it. I cleaned it all up in June/July, coated it multiple times with battery post protector and it is back worse than ever.

This is a 2008, Nissan 2.5 S

Should I be concerned?Should I be doing something to prevent this?

That is corrosion, probably made worse by acid leaking up through the battery post.

Short of replacing the battery and terminals you would have to clean it real good and then coat it with grease after it's back together. Dip the terminals in a cup of boiling water and pour some over the battery posts before putting it back together.

holy sh** - i had the same problem with my old truck, but not nearly as thick as that! hopefully you get it resolved soon
