Brake & Turn Signal Out - One side only

2002 Ford Ranger 3.0 V6, 5-speed manual 150k miles Turn, brake and hazard lights all out on rear passenger side. While driving I turned on the right blinker and the indicator on the instrument panel started flashing quickly (higher frequency than normal). When I got home and checked things, I confirmed the right side rear lights were out completely. Turn, brake & hazard. They all appeared to go out at the same time. I replaced bulbs, but that did not solve the problem. I then checked fuses in the interior (inside the cab on the left side of the dash) panel and all 4 fuses for brake and blinkers were good. The truck's lights currently operate in the following condition: Passenger rear lights are completely dead. Brake, turn and hazard are all out. Headlights & high beams are normal. All lights on front and rear of driver side are normal (turn, brake, hazard). Passenger front blinker works, but flashes at the elevated frequency of the instrument panel indicator. I do not know what to test from here to diagnose the problem. I have a multimeter and can understand technical directions, but am an automotive repair novice. I've read it could be the "master switch" in the blinker lever. It's odd that both turn and brake light went out together. I hope that allows for narrowing the problem pool. Thank you very much in advance for any expertise you can provide. I appreciate this service very much. I am a new user and eager to learn.

It could be as simple as a bad socket at the tail light, bad wiring going to the light or a bad turn signal switch. You will need a 12v test light and start out by testing for power arriving at the socket through the backside of the socket on the brown with yellow stripe wire, Don't worry about those fuses. They are only for the trailer towing circuit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
