Car Generator Help! Sign In

Hia all,

I have an extra automobile generator and I want to charge a 12V battery.
Can any one guide me how to use the generator's pinouts and which wires are to connected where???
Neither the generator nor the battery are in the car.

Waiting for reply.
AQL ARS!

Re: Car Generator Help! Sign In

I wouldn't bother as for $21 bucks at Wally World you can get a battery maintainer/charger (2 amp) but it floats and will quit when done. Can get a faster one for more bucks but if you have a day, these work just fine for a low battery, quicker if not so low.

Red, amber and green leds tell you low, medium and done charging with green. The belt and if you have a motor to run an alternator on a bench or something would cost more and be a pill.

Have one on each of my collection of crap fav is a "Shumacher - Speed/charge/maintainer" but they shouldn't use the word "speed" as it's not which is an advantage IMO,

Just curious. Which generator do you have (model)? Is this an AC generator(alternator) or a DC generator? What are you going to use to spin it? If this isn't some sort of project or experiment, you should follow Tom's advice.
