Hello, I have a 2000 Cevy Express 1500 conversion van. I have a problem with the brake lights. When I have the headlamp switch on (for night driving) and I press the brake pedal, the left rear brake light goes out and the right side stays on. When the pedal is not pressed, the left side goes back to normal and the right side stays on. During the day, when the the head lamp switch is not on, the brake lights work as they should. I have replaced all builbs and the brake light switch. Can someone please help. Thanks.

Guess: Sometimes funky things like that are inadequate grounding at the bulb's/sockets and current is using a light for weak ground and won't light when too many items are on. check around wires and sockets and the good contact of the bulbs back there. If any wiring alterations were done with the conversion that would be a likely spot for wiring problems,

My 2 cents.....

I have seen the multifunction switch (turn signal switch) cause a lot of stop lamp problems on GM vehicles...

Just an added thought..
