Chevy van turn signals

Hi all- Working on a 1992 Chevy G30 van. Left front turn signal not working. Checked all of the usual suspects including fuse, both flasher units (signals & 4 ways), and bulbs. Also checked the wire up to the firewall. Parking lights work so I know its not the sockets. Left rear signal works. Also having trouble with 4 way signals. The 4 way flasher unit got real hot and stopped working. This is an ice cream truck that has a lot of add on wiring. Thanks.

That light works when the 4 ways are on? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

yes...it only works when 4 ways are on...its weird...4 ways dont work on their own...so why is power going to the left turn signal when both the left turn signal is on and 4 ways activated? It will not work on its own...and the 4 ways will not work on their own either....Im stumped..... Like I said, this is an ice cream truck...lots of butchered wiring

That sounds like you have a bad turn signal switch.

Agree that turn signals are the issue or likely. This shouldn't have an air bag but who knows. Don't go there if it does but you can rent a wheel puller, they a tool to remove the star lock and see what's going on in there. There's a round snap ring retaining that start that locks the wheel. DON'T LOSE IT! Use a magnet or whatever tricks as I don't see those for sale but keep a few around. There are funky springs that cancel directionals that can break. Left and right asymmetrically opposite. Hey been there on many and not so hard when you've been in there on a few but a first time is always slower, T
