Citroen XSARA Picasso 1.6hdi Sign In

Hello,

I recently took my car into a garage to have a new clutch fitted, however whilst fitting the clutch the mechanic also snapped a series of wires, inside of a plastic tubing, how he accomplished this by accident I find difficult to believe. Anyways, now the car will not start, we have already tried replacing the ECU, however this has also proven ineffective. Does anyone have any other suggestions?, I have been considering purchasing another car, and swapping out all of the electronic systems, but am not sure how simple this would be, and whether or not it would actually work?

So, why is this your problem if the garage caused it?

The mechanic who caused the problem is unable to fix it, therefore he's advising that I scrap the car, though I don't want to scrap it because I really like it.

That doesn't take him off the hook. He is responsible, period. If he can't fix it himself, then he is responsible to pay another shop to do it. Personally, I would never let him touch my car again. He can pay the bill for the dealer to fix it.

Stuff happens. If for whatever reason this car was messed up by a PAID mechanic or shop/garage the problem is theirs!

Insurance if needed from the shop or paid in full for value of your car now declared unfixable? Add a rental while finding another even for reasonable time.

This is messed up. Mechanic should be taking responsibility for the problem you didn't have now not a car at all it seems,
