Hi all So I brought this car 1 month ago from eBay only £100 and the seller was a old lady who had it years (only 50k miles ) she had the ignition barrel changed as she broke it and had a key coded to the immobiliser but the fitter broke the steering lock and could not get it started and left her to it, she brought a new car and put this on eBay , so I brought it home and brought a new steering coloum that came with a ignition and key / immobiliser and matching ECU from a scrap yard fitted it all and still the same problem (only £40) I then decided I try again so I brought another immobiliser matching coded key & ECU from another scrap yard (£39) that insured me it was working and yet again fitted it all and still same fault , red immobiliser light just keeps flashing then stayes on permenent red when I crank it over but just won't start )even brought a new battery), I took the sensor that's around the key slot and put it directly on the coded key then used the other key to start it but same problem as the beginning, I have checked all fuses and wire looks good, I am now deciding to take it to a auto electrician to look at but I feel it's cheating as I really want to fix it myself Can anyone give me ideas Cheers

I'd love to do heart surgery too but it's just not going to happen. Unless you are ready to invest about $10,000 in the required equipment, you'd better stick with the auto electrician. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Unless you have the scan tool and required software to access and program the system, your electrical knowledge isn't going to help.

Nope, that tool's not going to cut it. Not even the right module.
