Dash Symbol / Brackets - Lightening Bolt. ??? Sign In

Wink 2013 Chyrsler 200, 2.4L , 100,000km's .. Don't have access to the Owner's Manual, Son called asking what Brackets with a Lightening Bolt in the middle Indicated ?? He also asked if we ever experienced the Interior Lights Dimming when the 4 Ways were on ??? We've had the car since Brand New off the Showroom Floor.. Never had any issues, only had the Brakes done @ the 68,000km mark...

    Found it!

Hope that shows - is a throttle control warning light - in yellow )bolt here( like that.
Vehicle may drive properly or might need a tow without throttle control. Looked it up like you can, means a code reading or trip to dealer suggested and many times reported from jump starting a vehicle especially from another vehicle!

In short - have its codes read and the light reset.

If you only see this when ign. is on and engine isn't that's just bulb checking,

    T

OK, that means the computers have detected a problem with the electronic throttle control (Drive by wire). You will need a professional level scan tool to be able to read the stored codes for that.

In the Process talked with Dealership.. Service Advisor says it has to be Scanned to Pin Point the source.. Won't commit to a $$$ value to fix ??

Service Advisor said , could be the Sensor , could be module , could be the throttle body (???) , may just need to be Reprogrammed or Flashed (??)..

    All true.

I don't know what you are fishing for here. It sounds like you had this well researched before you even asked this question.

Sorry.. I Asked Here 1st (???). Car is off Warranty .. Because I didn't have the Manual (Barckets & Lightening Bolt meant nothing to me)..

Some items are Dealer Only and that is what it's Turning Out to be !! Like going to a Family Doctor for an Opinion and wanting a 2nd Opinion, same can be said for the Family Car, Right ??? Cheers

There is only one answer and one next step here. The codes have to be read and then that code has to be troubleshooted to find the actual cause.
I wouldn't say it's "dealer only" at this point but you would need a better than average Independent shop so the dealer would be much safer.

If you want any answers beyond that right now, you're going to have to use a crystal ball.

AngelicAngelicAngelic... Local Repair Shop has the Capabilities to Diagnose the Source.. I'm told it may just need a Tweak from the Computer and the Dealership has the Codes Required...lol... Beauty, Fun Fun
