Dead Battery I Have a Question Sign In

Need your help please. If you can. It about a dead Battery. (New Battery and it's good)
I went to the Smog Check place and did not notice the attendant there had left the turn signals nob on.
I heard a warning bell later but didn't find what was setting it off, Anyway it ran the battery dead.
So I Charged it on my Battery Charger 4 hours ...But with the Nob still on. Because I did not know what was draining it yet!! After the 4 hour it had a wee bit of juice. Enough for me to find what was left on!
But The Dash light blink off and Battery is still Dead. Is it ok to charge it again? The Reason I ask is the fellow at the Auto store told me only leave it on 4 hours tops. But it's still dead?? I'm so duh about cars.. Do you know? I've got it charging again but though I should ask! ( It's a 91 Honda SW.)
Thanks,
Sunny (Female)

Re: Dead Battery I Have a Question Sign In

What kind of battery charger do you have? Is it one of the small ones that might charge 2 or 6 amps? If so, turn everything off, be sure all accessories are off, and you can charge the battery up to 72 hours on the 12 volt 2 amp scale.

Re: Dead Battery I Have a Question Sign In

2 amp is slow rate - easier on battery but slow. Actually does a better job and shouldn't hurt anything in a day or more from a very low charge to begin with. If you are in a rush and have a 15amp setting it would be ready in a few hours +/-,
