2009 Pontiac Wave G3.
3 weeks ago p2138 (APP sensor coralation) came up. Limped car to shop. Followed diag procedure. Replaced APP pedal assembly from GM. Put it in and cleared the code. ( No other codes ) 30 feet and BAM p2138 again. Next dig procedure says to change the ECM. Done and program'd at the dealer. NO JOY. Limped vehicle back to shop. Spent hours redoing the diag. APP 1 - 0% APP 2 - 8 to 16% off or idle. Just happened to notice %'s when I pushed the clutch pedal down. BAM both 0% release and back to crap. Disconnected safety switch and both are now 0% all the time and veh runs perfect. Code for safety switch flags and cannot restart until code cleared. Drive a bit and code for switch comes back on but veh still runs flawlessly. Performed clutch pedal relearn ( GM TECH II ) Same thing - APP's out of wack and p2138 returns. No pinched wires under dash, in fender well, or aftermarket stuff. 2 totally seperate circuits. ANYONE PLEASE.

Re: Dumbfounded Sign In

In theory the clutch pedal switch could be shorted and pulling down the reference voltage in the PCM. That's the one thing they share in the circuit.
