2006 Lincoln LS V8 AC/Heated Seats Dual Climate Control System I changed out the battery in this car, and since then the electrical system, has been screwy. My A/C will only blow super-heated air, I mean HOT! It's 41st day straight of over 100 degrees here in Texas. Also i get a warning for "service parking brake" since the battery replacement. The AC is the big issue, and I've researched many online resources but still no solution. The best I've come up with after running a self diagnostic on climate control panel is: code # 27 97 code # 27 99 The space between these codes may differentiate between driver and passenger side, or mean something else. I don't know. Can anyone tell me what these codes diagnose as the problem. I've been told the dccv in these goes out all the time, (heater control valve)?? I'm trying to trade this car in, and the dealer is docking me 50% off trade value. Also, I tried to change my own plugs on this car, and had a little tantrum and ripped the ignition coil cover plate off of the last bolt next to the firewall on both sides. I damaged both covers beyond repair, and am looking for a solution without having to buy new coil covers. Is anyone familiar with bolted brackets that could work. As of now, the plug boots are popping out of the plug ports, and causing it to miss and drag. It's pretty obvious by this post, that I need to stay the hell away from this car, unless I'm climbing in the driver's seat. Any assistance is greatly appreciated...

More than likely it is the coolant control valve. The valve had a fairly high failure rate. That's unless you ripped the harness off when you were doing the coil covers. It is a major PITA to change also because it is covered in heater hoses and smashed up behind the coolant fan shroud. The engineers had this fancy idea of eliminating the temperature blend door and using a dithering coolant control valve to manipulate heater core temperature. The HVAC module pulses the valve and when the valve fails or loses power, the valve defaults to full open burning you out of the car when you turned the blower on. You supposed to troubleshoot this before replacing the valve by disconnecting the electrical connector on the valve and measuring the voltage in the connector going to the DATC. Easier way is to measure the resistance of the valve coils, because more than likely they are open. There are three pins and they all should have 10-23 ohm between the first and second pin and the second and third pin. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
