Fix mangled wiring harness

Fix mangled wiring harness Sign In

Any advice on fixing this? My drive belt rubbed through the wiring harness, the pink goes to the MAF I'm pretty sure because the car is bucking really bad and it threw like P0122 I think it's a low voltage to the MAF.

I was just gonna cut out the sections, resolder it in and then shrink wrap it.

You're going to have to open that up fully to inspect each wire and repair them properly. If any of the wires are broken or damaged internally, you will have to cut them and solder them back together with heat shrink over them individually. If you have to remove any lengths, you will have to splice an extensions in to match the length of the other wires.

Tape the whole thing up when you are finished.

Sounds good, that was the plan. There's one 3 wires that are damaged and exposed. Any advice on the gauge of wire to use? Obviously I'll use a larger gauge but.

Just use the same gauge wire that is already there.
