Headlights Don't Turn Off Right Away

Hi,
I have a 2008 Toyota Matrix.
By design the lights come on any time the key is in the on position. Then, if I want the full headlights, I turn on the headlights switch.
Tonight, when I came home, I shut off the car & turned off the headlights. But they stayed on for about 30 seconds or so. Then there was a click, and they shut off.
So, the engine was off, the key was off, the headlight switch was off, but the lights were on for a while & then they turned off.
It's not done this before. What should I do?

? It's probably normal. Many cars will delay lights turning off despite OFF manually to allow you to see or be seen long enough to get to a door?
You may find this in the "operator's/owner's" manual how it was designed. IDK, some a double click of a fob will default to something new to you for this exact car or a fluke that will remain unknown.
See if it does it again if you don't want it to look up how to shut that feature off if that's an option,

OK, thanks. I was concerned because this was the first time it did that.
I've had the car about 2 years and it never did it before.
But everything seems to be working fine. So it probably is normal as you said.

One of several of my own a '06 something (not into newer personally) will do that then without touching a thing next time doesn't??
My bad that I haven't read a flippin' phone book of an "operator's" manual. They jammed a lot into multifunction switches on column you can't see if dark or unless you hunch over and look! Lousy IMO but so be it.
Other is where I park the thing gets hot out of control and as cold as New England gets so far just -2F.
I just have to forgive some harmless things for what it goes thru without even the lousy roads right around me.
Basically since it doesn't repeat a problem none have been I've ignored it like some other features I hate like locking doors by itself I think became a rule for that model year? Hard to keep up with local or federal requirements for what is automatic like it or not??
