Headlights problem Sign In

I have a 2000 kia sephia. My headlights only work when I wiggle the headlamp relay. I have changed the relay and fuse but I still have to wiggle the relay. It is getting worse and sometimes goes off when I am driving. If I do need to change the relay socket how do I do that? I have never done it before. Thank you for any help that you give.

If the relay has male spade terminals, sometimes you can twist on those a bit (pliers) for a better connection. Judgment call on just how the socket looks and what might need replacing to do better than that. That might be a permanant fix - not there - can't see it??

definate connection problem where the relay plugs into the fuse block. only real cure i know of is to lift the box; locate the wires going to the relay plug in; map them as to which terminal they plug onto (remember you are working upside down and backwards); remove them from the box; cut off the old ends and replace with readily available new ends; stretch the wires out of the box and attach the relay to something outside the fuse box with wire ties. technical more than difficult with plenty of possibility for error. might want a pro to do this.
