Headlights stay on

I have a little issue. I have a 2003 Dodge Caravan 3.2L and the head lights stay on. We were out for a driver, turned the lights on and now they won't turn off. This includes the tail lights, though when you switch back and forth from high beam to low beam they work right. I search this forum and found a few similar incidents and most were the front control module (silver box on the fuse under the hood) so I bought a new one and the problem still exists. Others say it might be the body control module so I went and bought a new one and installed it (white box under the dash) and still no joy. So does anyone have any ideas where to go from here? Thanks for any help.

This is going to have to be troubleshot instead of playing swaptronics. The lighting system is complex on this one because you have two modules communicating with each other to make the lighting system operate. The headlamp switch is basically a request to turn on the headlamps. One module gets this request and tells the other module," Hey, please turn on the headlamps and tail lamps." The module with the output control then turns on the transistors to send power to the lamps. To diagnose this properly the data streams for the BCM and the IPM are going to have to be monitored to see what kind of input request is going on. You'll probably need to take it to a shop that has someone that can access the IPM and BCM to read any codes stored and to monitor the data streams to figure out exactly what is going on. Since this system is computer controlled, you have to be able to understand how this system operates and treat it like you were diagnosing a computer problem. Throwing parts at it because someone had a similar problem isn't an effective way to resolve a problem such as this one, as you are figuring out. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
