Ok so I go through and re wire my old '64 chevy van, all is great starts and purrs, however the coil seems to be getting hot, hot! maybe they are always hot and I never noticed but this thing is untouchable. My question: is this normal? I dont have the coil hooked into the resistor would this possibly be a fix? Thanks, M

Yes, iI am planning on changing over to the electrical (implant) box, but I wanted to make sure all is ok first.

The power out of the ignition switch in "start" position is 12v to the + side of the coil.
