LDV 400 Won't start

Hi, I'm having problems with my LDV 400 Minibus. When i turn the keys i hear a low frequency buzzing noise while the heater plug light is on, this stops after about 5 seconds. I then try starting the van and the dashboard lights dim then completely go off and i get a clicking noise from the starter. I have checked the battery with a multimeter and it seems to be fine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Mat

Don't know this particular vehicle but from what you describe, the battery sounds like its bad. The battery needs to be load tested ,not just checked with a multimeter. I would take the battery to Autozone or any parts chain, they check them for free. I suspect a failed battery. Check all related battery connections too,at the battery and starter, make sure they are all clean and tight. Jim

Thanks for your advice. I got the van bump started this morning, i drove it for an hour but still wouldn't start again when i turned it off. All other electrical things are working fine (ie all lights, radio. Does this still sound like a battery? Or maybe a loose connection?

Sure does sound like a battery issue . I would certainly start there. Get it "load tested".... Jim
