Need Help Re-wiring Sign In

Car Information
Make: Chevy
Model: Impala
Year: 2005
Mileage: 120,000

Problem Details:
Wires were cut down the middle. (link to a picture is below) I'm having trouble re-wiring 6 wires, they appear to all be pink so I don't know which wire goes to which.

Picture Link:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1qHGmLjMEaMRURrNTBIX3pDT2M/edit?usp=sharing

My questions:
1. What are the wires in the picture? (what do they do/control?)

2. How do I re-wire the remaining 6 wires if all of them are the same color?

Thanks,

Nick Burks

The first thing you want to do is remove your e-mail address from the question. The spammers will have a field day with you.

If there are 6 of those wires, they are probably the power supply wires for the injectors and it won't matter which way they are hooked up. They all come from the same source.

Re: Need Help Re-wiring Sign In

Your going to have a lot of fun with that one. Those pink wires are 12 volt power feed wires for various devices such as: O2 sensor heaters, MAF sensor, ICM, EVAP purge valve, ect. Those wires go to different fuses in the junction block.

You'll need the connector pin out diagram for connector C112. From there you can get circuit numbers for those pink wires. Then you need to trace those circuit numbers and find out what those circuits go to, so you can connect the harness up correctly. You'll need an ohm meter so you can find out where each pink wire, on the engine harness side, goes.

Best thing to use for splicing is environmentally sealed butt end connectors. Not the cheapies, but the kind you heat with a heat gun that have the glue that comes out . You can also solder and heat shrink them.

Don't twist together and electrical tape them or use scotch locks, wire nuts, or those cheap butt end splices that aren't sealed.

Your going to have to get hold of wiring diagrams to be able to trace those circuits. AlldataDIY is a good source if you don't mind paying for access.
