Hello, I've recently purchased a set of the Opt7 H11 led headlight bulbs (low beam) for my 2012 Silverado 5.3L and I had a few minutes after getting home to try and install them, but was unsuccessful because the instructions were really generic and didn't seem to be specifically for my truck. There seems to be multiple parts for different applications, but my main question to anyone knowledgeable or has actually hooked these bulbs up to the same year, make, and model is can the bulbs be hooked up without cutting any wires??? If so, do you know of a link showing a step by step installation. I figured this would be a simple plug-in-play situation but in the short amount of time I had it seemed like the connections weren't meant for each other. Lol thanks in advance for any help!

Well, I appreciate the views and your time, but I'm pretty confident I can do this on my own. A couple of experienced pointers or ideas even if someone has used a different name brand wouldn't have hurt the situation though...

? So you bought bulbs that don't just fit your truck and will require wiring alterations. If you absolutely must alter the vehicle contact the manufacturer for what you'll need for your application which might be quite a change you were not expecting.

Why not if better light is the objective just buy new bulbs that do just plug in where old ones are now and be done with it?
These for example................

Since this vehicle seems to be available with dual filament bulbs for high and low beams in one bulb or separate bulbs just match them up if need be.

These are brighter than OE but are not LED so do use more power and expect them and exact OE to get dimmer with use and a limited amount of run time should be listed on package.

Just being new you gain brightness vs the old ones without alterations. Done and on your way just put them in as instructed on package exact fit for this truck.

Up to you but beware, if you go altering things from original and will end up cutting wiring for many things even this that's the area that will fail first later.

It's your vehicle so do what you want. Beware as the truck knows what consumption electrical things are meant to use so you are risking problems you don't want right away or later when or if you need another bulb you just confused the show.

IMO - take them back but replace them is fine as low beams don't last as long as high beams just anyway because they get used more,

Just because you know how to twist wires together and use a wire nut doesn't mean you will be able to read a wiring diagram and understand a complicated electrical circuit with DRLs.

I don't get it obviously. There is no problem with this leaving it OE (opinion) and is with messing with it so let's mess with it and see what horrors we can create,
