So I have a radar parking sensor installed in my car. It works okay for the past couple of weeks. But last night it just went off while my car is sitting in the garage. I thought it's turned off when the engine is off. It's not I have to disconnect the battery to turn it off.

I have no idea how any given aftermarket product will work. You need to contact the manufacturer or look at the installation instructions to answer those questions.

It is supposed to be only active when the ignition is on and the transmission is in reverse. You should have the person or business that installed the system find out what went wrong.
