Peugeot 2008 lights issue Sign In

Hi, I have an issue with the lights on my 67 plate Peugeot 2008.
With the ignition running when I turn my lights on my rear lights work but the front headlights don’t. The dashboard lights show they are on. When I switch them off the headlights come on and the rear lights switch off. The dashboard lights show they are off.
The car is booked into the garage next week but just wondering if there are any simple things I can check. I know the bulbs are good as they clearly illuminate.
Thanks
Gouldy

Good morning Gouldy. This is a US based site exact info would be difficult to impossible.

Your description sure is a strange way for lighting to fail suggest some recent incident or repair moved some or switch is at fault.

So if you can just look at where bulbs plug in, perhaps a "wiggle test" is just that on the plug ends I think diagnosis DIY will end there.

Keep your appointment with garage. By the way this name branded car hasn't been sold here since maybe the 1970s?

Hope that garage can nail it fast bet is, it's a single spot, thing (relay) or wires crossed today they should have both diagrams and tools to find where is the issue,
Tom

Thanks for the quick reply.
You were the first site that came up in a google search👍
I’ve had no work done to it or accidents since I bought it. I only was made aware when motorists started flashing me😂
Hopefully a quick fix🤞

Just chat the thanks for saying this spot showed up first for you. It happens a lot techs here don't buy the on-line manuals for cars not here.

Accidents. It's about 15 years old hard to know along the way. Cars are worth fixing if closer to new would be "totaled" does not take much.

So, it would either be just parts or easy enough to make right this issue a mistake? It's OK new is costly so fixing them is worth it but takes longer than a prior owner or insurance would keep paying.

Maybe not too but it's backwards for those lights I think a first for me any vehicle? Take care and good luck, Tom
