Remote starter range?

I don't know where this post belongs. 96 jeep cherokee sport 72k. I have a remote starter for about a year and a half, 6 months ago it stopped working so I sent in for a new module. Since then the range has almost completely diminished and sometimes it won't work unless I'm right next to the car. It's an aftermarket part and it's possible that the replacement isn't the same quality as the original. I was just wondering if there is anything I should be able to do to increase the range, ie: maybe the way the module is facing under the dash or antenna.... Any suggestions would be great thanks.

Sorry to be harsh but get that whole damn thing out of the vehicle. Just what you need is to mess with OE wiring with Chinese junk that near always causes problems - some will be nasty expensive. If too stupid to start your own car/vehicle than give up driving, T
