Seat Ibiza, 1400 litre, 50000 miles, Year 2000 Hi, Electical problems I have with the car are: When parking up at night and trying to turn the headlights off, sometimes they stay on, takes several goes to turn them off, Engine temperature gauge. When engine is up to temperature the gauge will suddenly drop to zero, stay there for a few seconds then back up to normal where it can stay for long periods of time or keep dropping down and straight back up. Sometimes it doesn't work at all even after an hour of driving. The external temperature sensor. The display rarely works and just displays dashes. When it does work it ranges from -40 to -30 generally. Only when it displays a temperature does the car heater work properly. If the car heater is on max (29 degrees C) and the external temperature sensor is just displaying dashes, turning down the heater just one increment to 28 degrees C results in freezing cold air. Using the key to unlock the drivers door should unlock both doors and the boot (central locking), it only does possibly one time out of a hundred, the switch on the drivers door to lock and unlock all works 9 times out of 10. If you don't switch the radio off before you turn the ignition off, sometimes it stays on, sometimes it goes off. If it goes off, sometimes it comes on again after you have locked the car up and are waliking away. (Switch the radio off before turning the ignition off i hear you say!) If you use the windscreen wiper feature that allows you to just nudge the lever up for one sweep, sometimes the wipers stick and stop start their way through the sweep. I think that's it! What the heck is going on? Is there a central relay/ control that all these things route through? Thanks for taking the time to read this. Best Wishes, Andy
