Toyota Corolla AE100 Sign In

Hi Guys I have a Toyota Corolla AE100 which has a 5A engine, just recently it's electronic board gave in and i wasn't able to get hold of a 5A board but instead a friend of mine had a 7A engine's board. We replaced the 5A board with a 7A one and my car starts and runs, but the engine checklight and the heat lamps are on full time. I am not a car expert, but would like to get some advice if replacing the 5A board with a 7A board was the right thing to do? Also by doing this will it cause any issues?

There is one correct operating system for that engine and only one. The exact same replacement is the only thing you can use.

Pretty sure your going to have problems since the 5AFE and 7AFE are two different engines. I'm really surprised it runs and you haven't fried anything. You might be the first person to ever try that.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
