2001 GMC Jimmy: Brake lights don't work and it's not the bulbs, they have been changed, can't seem to locate the correct fuse box by use of the manual or locate the brake pedal sensor.

Thank you, I'll check that too. Also, could it be the device that controls the four way blinker, it doesn't work either?

Ok: time to check all the fuses. Owner's manual should detail which ones cover what. That or find them inside and out (prob inside for brake lights) and test with test light (circuit tester) that both side of the fuse light up and not that a fuse just looks good. That's a start needed for now and go on from there, T Ps: Flasher could be a problem area for this with neither brake or "four way hazzards" working.

GM issued a recall on this concern. They had a problem in the multifunction switch. The multifunction switch may develop an open circuit condition with the bottom contact in the hazard switch carrier that results in the stop lamps and hazard lamps becoming inoperative. Yours may be affected by the recall and the recall may not have been performed yet. Contact your dealer with your vehicles VIN number If not ,your probably going to need to replace either the hazard warning flasher switch or the entire Multifunction switch. Jim
