I just bought a 2004 Ford Taurus SEL. Had it for only two days now. It's run great except for this morning, when the car alarm started going off randomly three times! I don't know that much about cars (yes I'm a girl ) but I stopped locking it with the key less entry pad and it has stopped. I'm worried about it going off in the middle of the night and ruining my battery though. I'm certain that it wasn't any external stimulus that caused it, because after the first time I was watching the car closely to see if it did it again, and nothing touched the car and yet it went off two more times. Any ideas??

ellebelle; I was hoping someone would jump in here, as I know very little about security systems. I do know that some sense a voltage drop, as when a door is opened, or a hood/trunk lamp comes on. Is it possible that a light has been left on? Check the trunk, glove box, hood, interior lights to make sure they are going off. Just a wild guess. I did check for TSBs on the PATS system, but didn't find any. Loren SW Washington

Thanks, I will check that out. It happened again today too! I decided to stop using the keyless entry pad and opened it manually with the key, and it immediately started going off. Why the heck would it do that? I wonder if this is something the dealer hid from me. I don't know...this is just scary because I'm afraid of it going off in the middle of the night and then my car battery is dead in the morning! I want to disable the dang thing, but can't find any instructions on how to do so. Maybe a Ford dealer could do it for me? PS my real name is Alex.

Alex; Not sure if the alarm will set using the key, rather than the keyless entry or the key fob? Dealer should be able to answer that. btw; My real name is Emil Gazortanplantz. Loren SW Washington

Hello---My name is way2old and I am an Alcoho----woops wrong forum. If you only had it for 2 days, the dealer should repair it for you. It never hurts to ask. Now might be a good time to ask because all the dealers want to keep business up. You have a 72 hour right of recension in most states. I think they only count working days. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds
