I replaced the fuse on the van but, the power locks work and the power windows do not work. I tested the wires they are as follows brown, blue, blue w/ white strip, red and black. only the RED wires have lit up(HAS POWER) there are prongs on the switch when all is connected the prong on the drivers side with the RED wire lights up on the passenger side the front top left prong lights up and the bottom right one lights up. So I don't know how to tell if it the switches or the wiring. Can some one PLEASE HELP??? I'm thinking only the RED wire should have power, but what are the other 3 wires for? black should be ground right? Do I need both switches replaced or is it in the wiring? Please send me an E-MAIL to let me know what to do,the drivers side runs about $85 and the other runs about $54, I don't want to spend the money on switches if it's the wiring. or does someone know were to get a electrical wiring diagram book with instructions on how to check and replace power window switches? my E-MAIL is below towjeremy@yahoo.com

What I should explain before you start studying this diagram; is that wiring diagrams (most anyway) are drawn showing switches in the rest position. In other words if the contacts of a switch are drawn with them touching another contact or not; that is how the switch sits when they are not being turned on, energized or pushed. You’ll notice that all the contacts in this diagram show that the contacts (arrows) are connected to a path too ground. When you follow the connections they all lead to the black wire (ground). Now let’s say you’ve pushed the left front master switch to raise the left front window. The connection between the brown wire and black is opened and a connection between the brown and pink is made. Power from the pink wire is allowed to flow through the brown wire to the motor. The dark blue wire is still connected to ground, completing the circuit. When you let go of the switch, all goes back as in the first diagram. Get use to the diagram by doing what I just did and follow the different circuits one at a time; raising and lowering each window on the diagram. Once you feel comfortable with the diagram the actual van’s circuit will be a breeze to figure out. Dan. Canadian "EH"
