1997 buick century door lock madness!!!! My husband has located a parasitic battery drain to the Battery 2 60 amp fuse, traced to 20 amp fuse to the door locks. After checking wires, etc in the door panel a friend suggested it might be the BCM or Door lock relay which we can't identify. Only the driver door lock button will lock or unlock that door. The passenger door button will lock and unlock the driver door but not itself. He can hear the switches clicking. Been weeks trying to figure it out. Can anyone help. Saw the Outdoorman's posts and picture of the BCM module but still need to find out where the Relay is??? Help

It's one of these 4 relays. Behind RH Side Of I/P The wire colors going into it are....... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Do you have a wiring schematic of the power door lock system? The door lock relay is located behind the right side of the instrument panel. It is located in a bank of relays that are bolted to the cross car beam. You'll need the wiring schematic to determine the correct relay by using wiring color. **You beat me to it Hammer. Your post/response is much better anyways...** Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

You see the wiring schematic for the door lock, HT? Kinda of strange because it shows only unlock signals at the BCM. I can see how the BCM unlocks the driver's door by grounding the relay, but how does it lock? I am guessing BCM sends 12 volts down the grey wire. Diagram is a little confusing because it doesn't show the inside of the BCM. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

This is very helpful Hammer Time, but what is discretesiganls talking about the wiring schematic of the BCM? Don't see that. The only schematic we have is in the Repair Manual and a wiring diagram reading the color of the wires. Is the BCM in the door panel or with the Relays?? You guys are great. Gil is getting anxious to get back out there. Seems like we might be getting close.

The relay for the door lock is separate from the BCM. The BCM is located under the left side of the IP near the steering column. There are three modules there and the BCM has three connectors plugged into it. Some of us have access to vehicle service information that makes Hyanes or Chiltons look like a kid's book. Hammer might post a schematic or you could go to AlldataDIY website and get a one year subscription for service info fairly cheap. Sooo helpful!! Found the BCM. Now he has to check it and the relays. Yes the Haynes is a joke but you work with what you have. As soon as he goes further we will let you know. Don't want to spend anymore money on Just Ask mechanic and buy schematics. Hope maybe Hammer Time might send that to us. So many exhausting hours. Thanks again.

You'll have to bare with me here. I'm having a lot of problem getting the answer window to open. DS it looks like the relay rests at ground and I suspect the BCM sends power on the gray wire to lock all.
