door switches Sign In

Hi I have a 2006 Jeep Commander, the door switches are not working correctly. I changed the master switch. it's not that or the fuse. The side mirrors don't work driver window will not do anything. the driver rear window will go down but not up. only using the rear switch. front Passenger window did go up and down. now it don't. Passenger rear window did work with it's own switch now it only goes up. From the drivers switch the the only window that did work was passenger rear. what could the problem be? I did take the door panel off and found a black box attached to the door panel connected to the switches. what could that be? can that be the problem? Unsure oh almost forgot the side mirrors wont work or the power locks. but from the passenger switch it will.

I don't have a wiring diagram handy but check your ground wires behind the kickpanels on both drivers & passenger sides...

Re: door switches Sign In

The black box is one of the door modules. There is another one in the passenger door. They communicate with each other over a network. They control the operation of the door locks, power mirrors, and power windows.

This might be out of your scope because you need a factory Starscan or equivalent to access the door modules to see what they are up to.
