1985 f150 302ci v8 I had carb trouble so i swaped out the intake and the carb. a new holly 600 cfm the same carb on my 68 couger witch runs perfict. the original 68 intake. the truck will not idle in gear as soon as you put in drive it stalls. it did not do this before i am thinking that the timeing advance may be the isue. if the computer conterold advance is disconected could this cause this condition. I had to eliminate a lot ov vacume to do this the timeing advance isn't on the distributer. its electeronic

thanks for the response. I eliminatered all ov the emition conterols. i had a carb left over from a rebild on my 1968 couger. i put the same holly in that car allso and it runs perfict. i endid up using the engen manifold from that car. the problems are diferent now and i wish i left it alone. the advance is done by the cpu so i thought to eliminate it with a aftermarket distributer. but im not shoure if this can cause the condition of it stalling when but in gear automatic trans. not just when put in gear but whenever you stop
