fan resister 2006 chevrolet truck Sign In

the fan resister and plug burned out can I wire a toggle switch with a fuse from the battery
to the motor and use it like that with out causing a problem

Suppose you could rig something but that's kinda Mickey Mouse. There's a chance by 2006 models that could cause issues - not sure. Resistor should be close by and bet pig tail ends if plug got wrecked are available to do it right. Motor may be drawing way too much juice causing this so whatever you do, don't over fuse it,

Why would you ever want to totally Mickey Mouse your truck over a $40 part?
You don't want to mess with that circuit. It's got diodes built into it and controls the speeds.

because I was told by a dealer the cost was $ 225.00 for the two parts I need
I have now found a place I can get both parts for $ 56.00
so I will get them and get it fixed
