Hi I have a skoda fabia 1.4 yr 2000 The lights have flickered for ages. Garage have just changed the alternator as they said it was dangerous. (even though i originally took the car in because the brake light was red and beeping). Seems now the situation is worse and now the dashboard lights are flickering too. is this dangerous- will i set on fire

When you state the lights flickering, do you mean they flicker on and off or do they pulsate in intensity but never go off? With the engine running, unplug the electrical connector from the alternator (not the battery cable). Does the flickering stop? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
