fuel gauge Sign In

I have a 2001 gmc yukon and the fuel gauge will read anywhere from empty to half of tank to full no mater if you fill it up and drive it a few days.I have been told to tighten gas cap and that hasnt made a difference. The gauge stays at different levels for a while it doesnt bounce around.
thanks galen

Re: fuel gauge Sign In

Well, tightening the gas cap surely isn't going to do anything for that problem. It's most likely a bad sending unit inside the tank. They have a lot of problems with them from the additives in the fuel.
