Hey guys, i bought an 96 chevy 2500 van 5.7 and the fuel guage always reads past full, i replaced the fuel sending unit even changed the guage cluster and still the same result i think it might be a crossed wire from some previous work done on the van can anyone help me with the wiring diagram for my van a little help please thanks

96 or 97? 97 went to 1500 series and 96 was G20 There is a circuit that runs from the gauge to the fuel sender in the tank. If that circuit (purple wire) is grounding out anywhere between the gauge and sender card, the fuel gauge will read full when the ignition is on. Unplug the connector for the sender and see if the gauge goes down. If it doesn't go to E, you need to find the short to ground. If it does go E, you have a problem in the tank.
