93 Buick park Ave 3.8 V6 180,000 miles. Very cold here -5 F when problem started. Need a good place to start looking for answers. Heater blower fan motor will not shut off. Can shut car off (key switch, and remove key) Blower motor still runs. I unplugged the power wires to the blower motor so battery won't go dead ( this killed power to motor). Is it a relay or a short circuited wire???? Any help would be great!!! Thanks!!!

Does the ignition switch 'feel' normal while turning to "on", "start", and back? Just had one today (1990) that turned out to be the ignition (electrical) switch. (not the key/tumbler) Funny, but it had the same symptom...blower motor would not turn off. Loren SW Washington

Well, this is a bit embarrasing, but we mis-diagnosed that heater blower motor problem. It turned out to be the heater blower motor resistor. GM calls it a module. It's mounted just below the relay/fuse block that is on the firewall, and bolted into the heater box. Retails for $260.00. Loren SW Washington
