intermittent starting

i have a 1995 jimmy at times it will start and run fine, other times it will not start at all engine just keeps cranking. the fuel pump,sensing unit and crank sensor have been replaced along with the spider assembly. the other day we banged on the gas tank wile trying to start it guess what it started. shut it off would not start again even banging on the fuel tank. another fuel pump was installed but still have the same problem.

When it doesn't start do you hear the gas pump kick in? If not try replacing the fuel pump relay.
