i have a 1995 jeep cherokee sport. its v6 4.o with 170,000 miles. the headlights work fine on it for about 10 minutes then they start to blink on and off. if you turn the switch off then back on they will work for a few more minutes then start blinking again. they will blink for about a minute and then just go off completely

Guess: One of them or wires to them is drawing too much current. Take a look at sockets for troubles and perhaps try unplugging one and bet one will stay working and the other will still cause this problem but after a longer time which would point to which to chase down. Any aftermarket lights wired into this should have all connections and wires carefully checked for troubles,

I ahd a simular problem in an older Ford Big Rig. I replaced the switch and the problem seemed to go away. The issue like the other post says is that too much current is flowing thru and this causes some switches to act like a heat breaker, heats up = off, then cools down = on, after a few cycles, either the switch locks open until reset or perhaps you have a circuit breaker that resets when you turn off the lights and let the system cool down
