Do the radio and climate control illuminate and dim with the dimmer switch? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Then you likely have a bad dimmer control. It works on pulse Width modulation. I believe it's part of the main headlight switch anyway. If it is sold separately, verify it's getting power from the switch on the brown wire.

No, you don't want to do that. That dimmer control sends out Pulse width Modulation at lower voltage. That system is not designed to run on constant 12v. That could be a very expensive shortcut.
