Hi guys I have a 1992 GMC Sonoma. It is 2wd with the tbi (throttle body injection) it has the 4.3 v6. I changed the head gaskets and all the gaskets that go to the heads and intake. The problem I am here for though is this, when I was putting the alternator back on and forget to take off the battery. The wire that bolts to the back of the alternator touched the intake manifold.and sparked and amoked.and it.got super hot. Now there is no power to anything when I turn the key. I'd like some help in trying to.find out what's wrong thanks

Check the fusible links at the starter. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

It's a small section of special wire that melts when overloaded and they are attached to the starter. Pull each wire looking for one that stretches. DO NOT use regular wire to replace it. That is special fusible wire.
