I scanned for a trouble light code and it says "purge valve canister solenoid." I figured it was connected to the evap canister. It isn't. I hate to admit it, but I can't find the valve! Help. 1995 chevy cavalier, 2.2 litre.

You didn’t give us the code so I can’t look up a test procedure but whatever the code is, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s a bad solenoid. It does mean that the computer has tried to command the solenoid on and didn’t see the reaction it expected, as in a fuel tank pressure sensor change. I’m not saying that it’s not the purge solenoid but it could also be restricted or leaking vacuum lines to and or from the solenoid, poor electrical connections, an open in the circuit and the list goes on and on. So if you happen to throw a solenoid at the car and the light comes back don’t be surprised. Dan. Canadian "EH"
